Sea Foam

While hiking along the pacific coast on a very windy day we encountered big globs of sea foam, some as big as a softball, being blown up from the sea and over a 50 ft cliff we were looking over. The foamy blobs came whizzing over our heads and then came crashing into the ground. We had a great time watching and trying to capture this experience. Thinking back, these simple experiences that are random and transient directly define the essence of life.

Past Your Bedtime

It was indeed past my bedtime but technically you can’t get in trouble for that when the sun never really sets. The summer sunset skimming the horizon and hiding behind the mountains of East Greenland, 2013.

Distant Glow

While it was getting dark and a wee bit chilly at our campsite near the Rasmussen glacier, the sun was still shining brightly on the Karle glacier around the corner casting an orange glow in the distance that warmed my chilly bones. Photographed while kayaking in East Greenland last summer.
Sunlight, Wind and Trees

Outside the relative calm of the forest the wind was blowing and the sun was shining a perfect golden light. Nothing out of place in this forest near the ocean on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Last Light

Milky Morning

Mid-morning on a milky sea with vibrant succulents lighting up the shoreline. The wind was up and the waves were rough but the view was outstanding on this beautiful morning walk. When the view is this good you have to think to remember to blink.
Rude Awakening

A seal seems to be tolerating but not completely happy with the seagull who rudely interrupted his afternoon nap. Mendocino Coast, CA.
