We did not stay long enough to see the outcome, but this crab looks to be on the menu for a vibrant purple sea stars breakfast.

Photographing from my kayak is always fun since you are always moving a bit. This was taken looking in towards the shore on Leigh Lake in Grand Teton National Park.

Prior to getting this photo several young elk raced across the road heading towards Mammoth hots springs closely followed by two coyotes. Once the calves rejoined the main herd the adult females grouped them together and stood guard. With this cow on lookout there was no way a coyote was going to get close to the youngsters and the same went for me.
