White Tailed Buck

A white tailed buck slowly moves slowly through the fields of dried grass foraging on a few green shoots and the remains of a rocky mountain bee plant.

A regal fellow with head held high.

And a wonderful sight that brought some light to a cloudy gray afternoon.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Young Buck

He made it through a long cold winter safe and sound now with antlers growing fast and wrapped in a velvet coat. A young White-tailed Deer makes his way through the forest aware and quietly as he can.
White Tailed Doe
Usually when we see a White Tailed Deer on the the trail they are a bit more skittish than the Mule Deer we encounter but on this day a White Tailed Doe walked along in the same direction we were going keeping her distance but foraging away unalarmed. We also noticed that while the mule deer in our area are turning much grayer right now the while tailed deer seem to be getting a rusty red color to their coats.
