Peeking in

On November 16, 2020November 11, 2020 By Mike and Christy2 Comments

Peeking in on a well hidden Bull and Cow elk who were enjoying a bit of afternoon sunshine in the golden fall fields. Those warming rays must fell darn good these days as nights have gotten colder than normal these last few weeks.

As we sat quietly waiting for a group of Waxwings to show up in the berry filled shrubs nearby this fine looking fellow strolled up to within 10 feet or so from us. He seemed not too worried about our presence and went about foraging as he made his way through the forest.

Queen of the wash

Time laid bare as layers of rock on the mountain behind and an old skeleton of Juniper lies on the rocks below.

On November 9, 2020November 8, 2020 By Mike and Christy6 Comments

Canada Jay

On November 4, 2020November 2, 2020 By Mike and Christy6 Comments

Not sure why they named it this as there was nothing to be Humbug about.

Looking east

On November 1, 2020October 20, 2020 By Mike and Christy5 Comments

Looking east with the sun at our backs.

Treated to that golden glow and a beautiful moon.

The sun is setting far too soon as November makes its way.

Before November

On October 31, 2020October 20, 2020 By Mike and Christy3 Comments

Before the leaves blew down.

Before it was dark too soon.

Before November in a place not far from home.

Earth and sky.

On October 28, 2020October 27, 2020 By Mike and Christy2 Comments

Earth and sky and earth and sky as far as the eye can see.

Above the canyon rim.

On October 26, 2020October 27, 2020 By Mike and Christy6 Comments

Peeking out of a small slot canyon as the sun begins its daily decline. Soft clouds, juniper and rocks above as another day comes to a close.
