Peeking in on a well hidden Bull and Cow elk who were enjoying a bit of afternoon sunshine in the golden fall fields. Those warming rays must fell darn good these days as nights have gotten colder than normal these last few weeks.

Ol’ Brown eyes
As we sat quietly waiting for a group of Waxwings to show up in the berry filled shrubs nearby this fine looking fellow strolled up to within 10 feet or so from us. He seemed not too worried about our presence and went about foraging as he made his way through the forest.
Queen of the wash
Time laid bare as layers of rock on the mountain behind and an old skeleton of Juniper lies on the rocks below.

Getting three out of four family members to cooperate for a portrait is not too bad.

Canada Jay
A Canada Jay sits patiently in the morning light. Perhaps awaiting a handout or just waiting for us to leave so they could get on with the business of finding and storing food to get them through an other cold winter.
Oh Humbug
Evening approaches at a place they call Humbug point.
Not sure why they named it this as there was nothing to be Humbug about.

Looking east with the sun at our backs.
Treated to that golden glow and a beautiful moon.
The sun is setting far too soon as November makes its way.

Earth and sky and earth and sky as far as the eye can see.
Above the canyon rim.
Peeking out of a small slot canyon as the sun begins its daily decline. Soft clouds, juniper and rocks above as another day comes to a close.
