This little butterfly made a short visit to these small plants for just a quick sip of nectar. That tongue was digging deep but perfectly designed to do the job. Amazing.

Coneflower and Friends
From Bees to Beetles to Butterflies the humble coneflower befriends them all.
Several types of bees all in the same five minutes time. We counted over five.
Pollen sacks are getting full and it looks like it is time to return to the hive.

Bugs and flowers go hand and hand. This little black and yellow guy was probing for nectar while doing a little polinating at the same time. One of the things that is fun about macro photography is getting a glimpse into a world you really can not see with the naked eye and all too often we forget that just because we can not see something it does not matter.

Dancing gently in the breeze these flowers made a walk along this trail one to remember.
Glacier Lilly
Up high in the mountains where the snow is just melting the Glacier Lilies are starting to appear. The dark green background made for a fun conversion to BW as the sunlight gently illuminates the petals of this wonderful flower.

A beautiful summer wildflower blooming up high in rustlers gulch outside of Crested Butte Colorado makes even a cloudy day appear to be full of sunshine.

A beautiful male house Finch enjoying some of the summer suns bounty. Better eat up before the squirrels find the sunflowers.
