Summer Sunset
A deep blue summer sunset on Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone National Park is just what the doctor ordered for a post holiday Tuesday morning in which inertia of a three day weekend wants to keep me at home instead heading off to work. The ball just gets rolling in one direction then you push it back in the other. Oh well, time to get off to the office and play my part in the game.
Dark Eyed Junco

This guy may be dark eyed but he is full of color. We watched him move from tree to tree in a sometimes dark sometimes light pine filled forest in Yellowstone National Park.
Western Tanager

We spotted this little Western Tanager while out on a hike hiding in some shrubs on a somewhat overcast day. We don’t see these guys often so it is one of those little things that just makes your day. A splash of color on an overcast day…nature therapy for sure. Yellowstone National Park.
Near Norris

With the spring snowmelt the Gibbon river overflows its banks reveling a beautiful wetland near Norris in Yellowstone National Park.
Observation

While quietly watching the young moose learn important lessons by watching her mother it became clear that observation without words is something I should do more often.
