Western Tanager

Western Tanager

We spotted this little Western Tanager while out on a hike hiding in some shrubs on a somewhat overcast day. We don’t see these guys often so it is one of those little things that just makes your day. A splash of color on an overcast day…nature therapy for sure. Yellowstone National Park.

  1. This wonderful photo sure made my day, thank you Mike. I have a western tanager on my property, I hear it daily, but I still have yet to see it. Great shot. 🙂

    1. Thanks Jet, It is always amazing to see such a colorful bird and most of our encounters were brief but this time we got to shot a few photos. Hope you are having a great day.

    1. Thanks for checking out the photo much appreciated. I agree they are beautiful birds and being lucky enough to come across one on a hike is a real treat. Wishing you all the best.
