This wasn’t the biggest iceberg in the pond but boy oh boy the evening light sure made it special. Photographed while kayaking in Sermilik Fjord, East Greenland, August 2013.

Thanks. It was cool how this iceberg had melted almost creating a very obvious landscape out of ice.

I love that the iceberg itself is an unusual shape – it really captures the light and makes the entire image look fresh from the classic big-block-of-ice shots. 🙂

Thanks Susan. I was intrigued by the light shining through this ice and how the shape was almost a mini world of its own so to speak.

Fascinating! I love all the colors in the iceberg … great sky too!

Thanks, the colors last for several minutes with the sunlight and viewing angle having a big impact on how the ice looked. Just one of those occasions when you get lucky and happen to be passing by when it all comes together.

Maybe it is indeed scary to realize that power and beauty can be one and yet they can be so different? Just a thought.
