A group of white faced Ibises make a one night stand at the local pond. We only run across these guys once in a blue moon so it was indeed a pleasure to observe these guys feeding and refueling prior to take off for wetter lands further to the north.
I had no idea ibises were those colours! Beautiful birds π

They are quite colorful and the photo does not even do the colors justice. Wishing you a great weekend.

Wow, what colours, and you were so lucky to see so many. We have nothing like this in the UK, though we have a few herons locally.
Have a great weekend.

Hi and thanks, we were indeed lucky to see these guys as it is pretty rare in the area. They do stop by while on migration and we just got lucky. The colors are sure amazing for sure. Have a good weekend your self.

I love all the different birds you are showing us! You must be right smack dab in the middle of a migration corridor. The iridescent wings of these ibis are spectacular. Nature is so grand. π

Well, not a big migration corridor but we do have our visitors passing through. SOme like the Ibis are just lucky finds. And indeed nature is so grand!

Wow, it is always so much fun, as well as exciting, to see a new bird. DO the ibis stay around your region or are they passing through like they do here?

I’m quite sure they’re passing through here in the Tetons, but I’ve been meaning to do more research on them.

You never know but the same guys that were down in the denver area a week ago could be up your way by now. Maybe they hang out in some of the wetland areas?

Yeah, I saw them flying over the Snake River yesterday and walking around the Kelly Warm Springs last week.

Neat, would be fun if they stayed around all summer.
