Hi Eliza, good advice for this little fella. However these guys seem to stay around all winter and hang out on the Platte river near to where warm water enters the Platte from one of you local electric power plants. The warmish water creates a small mico-environment that allows some birds to not have to migrate too far south.
Oh, that’s just lovely and you caught him standing on one leg, so cute! I like his blue beak too 🙂
