Hi Eliza, I almost titled the photo “Beached” as that ice did reminded me of a whale. I think the color is just the light playing on the ice. It is really impressive when it is in the water.

I am not sure if seeing these types of sidebars is rare or not but for me it sure is. Washed up on a deserted beach like a frozen whale.
