Winter Sage

Winter Sage

Sage, a wise and stoic figure or a shrubby plant? Maybe one and the same. Blacktail Plateau, Yellowstone National Park.

  1. I love this plant and all its relatives…. do you know which one this is? It’s all over the field in the photo! Do you remember if it had a fragrance in winter?…I would have loved to have come across this…but LOVE the picture….thanks!

    1. Well, not much aroma coming from the sage at that time and I am not sure of the specific species. This sage grows on the high-plains of wyoming and can get pretty tall and can make a dense sea of sage in the summer.
