Hi I Shovelers do have their heads in the water so much. One of my favorite things to observe is a mass of them all feeding with their heads in the water and the whole mass spinning in a circle. I have yet to find a way to photograph it in a way that tells that story well and it is a good story. Hope your day is going well.
Beautiful freeze frame shot.

The water is so blue. I love the light in it. Shovelers are great. They have their heads underwater so much of the time!
