We spent Memorial Day weekend out looking for migratory birds in Northern Colorado. This May it has been unusually cold and snowy and Memorial day weekend was no exception as one after another we were hit by short storms dropping a little Graupel and then blowing quickly out. We must have experienced about 10-15 in one single day. It was clear summer will come a bit latter this year to the high plains in North Park, CO.

I’m beginning to feel rather disturbed with the weather anomalies all across this nation. This can’t be ‘normal’, can it?

Perhaps the new normal is that things will be a bit more extreme. Although I can remember springs like this every 10-12 years or so which could indicate that it is indeed normal. At least around here.

Yes, but now it is every year that is odd, at least around here, that is what worries me.

An even bigger picture view would be odd is the new normal…something I seem to notice everyday. Hope that is just not old age peeking through.

I think the same way… age or wisdom? 😉

I do think both come as part of a package…in most cases. 🙂

It was about 38 F and warmed only to 45 that day. Pretty cool for Memorial day.
