While we were taking photos of bison off in the distance a pronghorn walked right behind me and started feeding before giving me the once over.

Pronghorn are among my favorite animals. I never got this close to one. Beautiful pic!

  Pam, thanks. I have tried to get close to pronghorn but there were usually pretty shy. This guy however, came right up to us. Just luck.

  Hi Eliza, yes they are typically tough to get close to but perhaps they have become accustomed to humans in Yellowstone.

    I remember visiting Olympic National Park and was amazed at how tame the deer were, so accustomed to ‘harmless’ humans (no hunting allowed!). You could get about 10 feet away before they moved off.

      They do learn quickly and also seem to know in different environment humans are a threat.
