Mr. and Mrs.

Mr and Mrs.

A fine looking bluebird couple hanging out on a post along the road to Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This couple was taking a break from chasing away the tree swallows from their nesting box along the road. It seemed like at every nest box along the road similar battles were taking place.

    1. Thanks Denise, we just got a bit lucky that both the male and female landed on the post at the same time. They were taking a break from the battle with the swallows. It must be great to have bluebirds nesting close we have to drive the country road to see them around here and they are quite shy. Have a great day and thanks again for the feedback as it is appreciated.

    1. Thanks, they sure are colorful and make a fine pair don’t they? It was fun to see them as a pair and watch them working hard to hold their nest box from the swallows. Have a great day and all the best to you.

    1. Thanks for the feedback. I wish I could see the blue jays everyday but most often they are heard and not seen in my neighborhood. Once in awhile I get a glimpse and marvel at those tail feathers. Have a great day.

    1. Hi Eliza, the wood grain did turn out extra crisp in this photo and I can’t decide if it is interesting or just a distraction to the birds so I am glad to hear your found it interesting. The blue is almost surreal but oh so beautiful. Hope your week has gone well so far.

  1. This is the most beautiful post I have seen in a long time Mike. And I have seen a lot! πŸ™‚ Gorgeous couple. Perfect portrait!
    Have a lovely weekend,

  2. Good capture! As a photo buddy (who loves getting bird images) told me, “its about being in the right place at the right time…and taking advantage of it” and you certainly did. Good eye and great results!

    1. Hi and thanks for the feedback. We really appreciate it and your taking the time to leave it. I agree and you might add being in the right place for a long time. Well at least most of the time. πŸ™‚

Hope your day is going well and your week off to a great start.

    1. Hi, these little bluebirds are very fun to see and in my experiences fairly shy even when still in the car driving up a road they keep their distance. Hope you are haivng a wonderful day.

    1. Hi, we don’t get many around where we live but an hour or so up into the mountains we have the pleasure of their company. Thanks for the feedback and hope your week is going great.

feedback welcome
