On our recent visit to the park, we hiked to Taggart Lake. I set a camera on a rock and took our picture sitting facing the lake with the huge mountains on the other side. I gave my wife a painting done by an artist friend of that photo. We didn’t see any water lilies. But, they would have added a nice touch with their yellow color.
Hi Jim, Taggert lake is sure a nice hike and worthy of both a photo and a painting. That must have been very nice to see your photo translated into a painting. We take many of our photos with that intent as Christy is a painter. Hope your weekend is going well.
There are lots of pond lilies in the lake where I went hiking weekends. They are just as big as a golf ball and never bloom. The lily you captured in the photo is bigger than the ones I have seen. I like its color, so vibrant.
Hi and thanks for your input. These are the only water lilies in the lakes and typically are all the same size. I have seen other types in lakes in the midwestern USA that were smaller and white and like you experienced may or may not bloom fully.
