Such a sweet little guy. I love them too, and look forward to their return each winter. We have had a little one this year with a white head! It doesn’t have red eyes, and it has a little black on its head but not much. Nature is always so surprising.
Peace to you Mike,
Mary
Hi Mary, I do enjoy the variety of colors within a group of Juncos in the years. Feels like there are many individuals to look at and makes it easy to remember each one when the differences in color and pattern are present between individuals.
Hi Eliza, yes they are a treat to have around in the winter. I love how there is so much subtle variety of color within a group of Junco feeding in the yard.
Hi Jim, they are indeed always busy searching for seed around the yard and feeders and quiet as well except for I sometimes hear the clicking sound they make while in the spruce trees.
So cute…l

Busy and quiet. I hate to see them go north in the spring.

They are so cute. We always called them snowbirds, and often they fly in right before a snow. Of course, where you are, all bets are off!

Hi and in town they only hang around in the winter and as spring arrives they are back to the higher elevations and color climates.
