A female yellow rumped warbler enjoying the beginnings of this years deciduous forest. Once these trees completely leaf out getting photos of birds in the forest is another story altogether but for now I will enjoy the view while it lasts.

Thanks, yes indeed getting shots of the small birds away from feeders and the yard is a challenge for which I usually have limited patience but when it happens it sure is fun.

I feel your pain! The foliage is making it harder to spot and photograph the little birds here too.
This is lovely! Great pose, clarity, detail, and little highlight in the eye too!

Love these beauties. I used to be so impatient waiting for the leaves on the trees. Then I became a birder and now I keep hoping for them to slow down!

Me too, at least a week more with few leaves but many birds would be great.

I love warblers – they are migrating through here right now and what a treat! Makes my heart sing, but not as well as they do! π

Eliza, I am sure your heart sings on a level similar to that at which the warbler is singing. π

It’s snowing here today and the warblers are all hunkered down. π

I learned recently that many warblers wait for the weather to clear, then take off at NIGHT. I imagine there are less raptors to worry about then and it is cooler. Nature is endlessly fascinating!

Thanks for the info, I am sure there are less raptors and they can then spend the day feeding as well.
