Hi Alex and we are glad to have introduced you to these guys. Wonderful bird in the marsh and quite a performer with a call that is lovely and yet an acquired taste so to speak.
Thanks Wayne, they are so much fun to watch and listen to as well they would be a nice addition. Not even any on inland lakes or marshes? Any Red-winged?
Handsome. We saw a Red-Headed Woodpecker yesterday behind the house. First in a long time.

HI Jim, we have not seen many woodpeckers at all this year. A few red named sapsuckers and a hairy but that is about all.

I hope it isn’t a bad sign, just an aberration.

Hi jim, I think it is just an aberration. The winter was long and this spring has been wet so maybe that is the cause. I could be in more as well.

Nicely perched. Great shot Mike. I didn’t know of this species existence.

I’m not sure they live in my area, so maybe I can see them on vacation some day.
