Last Standing

High up in the hills the flowers have all flowered and transition fills the air. What a wonderful time.
Oh Deer

Just a few family portraits of mom and the kids. We were lucky enough to have them spend the last month or two hanging around our area. A treat to sit and watch as the kids grow up they kept us active as well as much time was spent shooing them away from the garden.

One the the youngsters caught eyeing a nice patch of late-blooming flowers.

It’s hard to not smile at a face so cute but turn your back for a second and the petunias are toast.
The Fungus Among Us
I have always found mushrooms fascinating life forms. Not plant, not animal yet vitally important for the health of both plants and animals. However, they are a bugger to photograph yet I never stop trying.
Paul Stamets wrote a great book on Fungus call “Mycellium Running” and delivered a very interesting TED talk several years ago:
Along the Yellowstone

Yellow cliffs, blue waters and an ominous sky filled the landscape this day as we looked down the Yellowstone river. Each time we look from this spot our focus might shift from river to rock to all of the above. A place with a story to tell.
