When the rain falls hard and the fog moves in perhaps the answer lies in front of your face. Walking with nature reminds me I cannot predict the future but I can act in the present.

The leaf implies the seed.

Infinite possibilites as Cottonwood leaves swirl in the breeze with Cottonwood seeds. A visual demonstration of the circle of life.
Green Dream
Looking through the plastic lens of the old black holga into pure summer goodness. Twisted aspens and green green grass. Taken while hiking the dark canyon trail in the Raggeds wilderness area. Holga 120N and Fuji Velvia film.
In Plain Sight
Sometimes things are hidden in plain sight. While on a hike on a busy forest trail we ran across this beautiful Barred Owl sitting in plain sight only a few feet off the trail and perched low in a tree. Innumerable hikers walked right past without noticing. Even when we stopped to take a few photos only a few folks stopped to ask what we were photographing.
Wood Thrush
For me the Wood Thrush is a bird I may often hear but seldom seem. Hanging out in those forests deep with green and hidden out of sight they have such a wonderful song. After listening to his song for several minutes this Wood Thrush flew out and landed on a post in a clearing for a minute or two before retuning back into the woods. Love the pudgy belly on this one.
Gooey

Sometime life is sharp and crisp and sometimes soft and gooey. The endless patterns in which life arranges itself is a marvel to enjoy. Yellow Fungus enjoying a moist afternoon in the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver Island, CA.
Sporulating

My wife Christy is a master of collecting mushrooms and makes beautiful spore prints with them. We usually scan the spore prints but this time I photographed one. Fun with fungus or maybe fungart for short? Thanks Christy!
Sunlight, Wind and Trees

Outside the relative calm of the forest the wind was blowing and the sun was shining a perfect golden light. Nothing out of place in this forest near the ocean on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Conduit

Time to follow the path for a walk in the woods. A conduit into nature. Vancouver Island, BC
Lizard and Light

We spent quite a bit of time watching this good looking guy hunting for insects on a rock in the forest and waiting patiently for him to move into a very small patch of waning light to snap a few photos. He finally came out into the light and when there held a nice pose for a few seconds while checking us out before resuming his hunting in the shadows.
