Sun Dog
A sun dog shining brightly near the Karlae Glacier in East Greenland. Photographed on a kayaking trip last summer and yes, this sundog did portend for a dramatic weather change, and not for the better.
Stormy Seas
Waiting for the storm to clear felt like forever and a day.
Yet as a storm arrives it brings with it the next sunny day.

On a foggy morning
The rattle of kingfishers flying off as we approach. The chirping of an eagle high up in the tress. The gentle lapping of the waves rolling into a quiet cove.
Feeling connected to it all even as the fog rolled in.
A Fortress
Built form the earth and carved by the sea.
Nature’s a fortress protecting me.
Blue Grey Day
The vastness of grey skies in a seeminlgly endless space balanced by brilliant blue of the ice in the fjords of east Greenland. Harmony exists.
One in every crowd.
It seems like no matter how quietly I try to kayak by and photograph Mergansers there is always one who seem to catch on to the action. Two different groups on two different days same result.
River Crossing
Photographing wildlife from a moving kayak is fun but the results are always uncertain due to the movement of the river and the subject. Luck happened to be on our side as we watched this elk in Grand Teton National Park.
Moe, Larry and Curly
The leader of this pelican gang we named Moe who seemd to be saying hit the water you numbskulls to Larry and Curly as we paddled by their little island in the Snake river near oxbow bend in Grand Teton National Park.
Passing Storm
With the rain came a quietness that only rain can bring. Looking out into the big Pacific Ocean off the NW coast of Vancouver Island.
