Seasons Changing
On a warm November day with blue sky above, a fresh dusting snow below and those beautiful dark purple clouds floating in the sky I was gently reminded that winter is on its way.

In the Wild
Oh the Squirrel. My nemesis in the yard pillaging the bird feeders and outsmarting my attempts to keep them off. In the wild away from the city they are (serious hesitation) cute and this guy munching a pine cone as the November sky says time to fatten up brought a smile to my face.
Tour Guide
One of Yellowstone National Parks wonderful tour guides pointing out Floating Island Lake in the morning light. A little past due but November 1st was National Bison Day. We sure are lucky to still have these guys walking around free in a few spots on the globe.
From here to there
On a beautiful fall day the views at Noris Geyser Basin seem to go from here to there without an in-between.

Snow up high and rain moving in down low along the Buffalo Fork of the Snake River in Wyoming. Fall colors in the Valley and dark clouds up high portend the early arrival of old man winter.
Mighty Might
While drinking our morning coffee at our campsite we watched as this little Ermine pass by carrying a chipmunk as large as they were. Unfortunelty we had no camera in hand. A few minutes latter the Ermine scurried past us in the direction in which they just came from. Within a few minutes there returned again carrying a Chipmunk. Still no camera in hand. However when we saw the Ermine return again heading the same direction I grabbed my camera and was able to capture them caring their third successful catch back to their nest. It was a tough day to be a Chipmunk and a good day for the Ermine pups.
Williamson’s Sap Sucker
A wonderful looking Williamson’s Sapsucker rests in a dimly light forest in Yellowstone NP.
Not a common sighting for us so we sure felt lucky to see him that day and had to sped a little trying to correctly ID this guy.
