Nice Shot! I think these are pretty rare around here. Are they in your area as well? I seldom see a shot like this. It is wonderful to see the wings at work, and the image over all so well composed.

Thanks Melissa, these guys are fairly common around here on the ponds and in they rivers not in large number but we will run across them every now and them.

Perfect capture of ‘flight’ in action. When you stop and think about it, flight is the most amazing adaptation on earth, don’t you think?

Hi Eliza, flight is certainly an amazing evoltionary adaptation and now that you have made me think the whole vast array and diversity of adaptations is really mind blowing. bacteria that live in acid and 300 degree water, the ability to eat grass and well that big ole’ human brain when it is being used. There are days however that I wish I could fly. 🙂
