In a little eddy on the muddy banks of Clear Creek a Green Winged Teal couple spent the morning feeding while we looked on from a distance. This week the waterfowl have returned in large numbers and we are thankful for that.
We will be spending our day tomorrow counting bird species. I can’t think of a better way to be thankful for life than to be outside with my whole, wonderful family. Happy Thanksgiving, Mike.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. We hope to get a bit of a walk in tomorrow if we can although snow is in the forecast so it may be a quiet walk with the birds hunkered down.
Thanks Jet, I am always happy to see a pair or two along the creek we visit for frequent walks in the winter. They are indeed elegant and when a Mallard swims by, boy oh boy, you really get an idea of how small they are. Happy Thanksgiving.

Nice shot of the pair. Unbelievable sharpness and detail on the male.

Thanks David, must be a bit of bias on the focus…those males are sure handsome.
