Wow, that is quite an image to bring up in your mind. This little Kestrel does have anise upright posture like that displayed in so many of the 18th century portraits of people.

Hi,these guys feed mainly on insects so he is looking for grasshoppers in the fields beyond the trees.

Something about the stripe on the face and the way he’s perching makes me think of pictures of Henry James. Formidable little guy. Nice catch.
