  Thanks Jim, it is cool haw there are several types of Columbines about on the trails. This color is prevalent here up in the mountains although sometimes we find the red/yellow varieties.

  Thanks Jet, we are lucky to have these flowers around and seeing them blooming high-up on the trails is a requisite part of summer for me.

Lovely shot – I miss seeing columbines in the deep hot south. I used to grow them in every color combination possible and then they would cross pollinate.

  We have not tried to grow any but it sounds like a bonanza of color especially if they cross pollinated and new colors appeared each year.

      HI and thanks for the tip. I might look into it as we have a space in our landscape that needs filling although it might be too hot since it is full sun and south facing.
