I heard one in the woods a few nights ago and wondered if it was the same one I saw in my yard six months ago. We usually get barred owls, which are plentiful, but rarely horned owls. This one looks big!

HI Eliza, we get use the opposite here. Great Horned Owls are plentiful whereas the Barred is a rare occasion.
