nature has no boss 
There have been many grasshoppers on the trails warming themselves lately. Some are quite large. On Sunday past, we encountered a tiny Brown Snake barely a foot long. I doubt if it was hunting grasshoppers. It would be a quite a wrestling match. Later we did get a brief glimpse of a Garter Snake. It was probably hunting grasshoppers. We have seem our fair share of snakes the last few week mostly garters and mostly smallish in size. Time to fatten up before the winter for those guys.
