Kayaking down the snake river in Grand Teton National Park always presents numerous opportunities to observe eagles and osprey. This immature bald eagle was hanging out in a wonderful old tree along the shoreline in an area with little current allowing me to get a photo or two before I was moved along on my way by the river.

While I am not sure if this Female Yellow Headed Blackbird had found a mate or was looking for one, if I were a male Blackbird, I might bring her a bouquet of flowers just in case.

This guy may be dark eyed but he is full of color. We watched him move from tree to tree in a sometimes dark sometimes light pine filled forest in Yellowstone National Park.

A pair of Western Grebes out courting on a lovely Friday evening. Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge in Walden, CO.

We spotted this little Western Tanager while out on a hike hiding in some shrubs on a somewhat overcast day. We don’t see these guys often so it is one of those little things that just makes your day. A splash of color on an overcast day…nature therapy for sure. Yellowstone National Park.

A little Pie Billed Grebe sitting content on the nest. They way they guys can just sink into the water instead of diving is just so cool.

A cinnamon teal pair searching the grass looking for the perfect nesting site. Many ducks were paired up and on the nest during our last visit to the Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge.

A constantly moving little yellow warbler takes a moment to breathe and enjoy the fresh spring grass from a perch on an old downed log.

These guys seem to be buddies. In fact, more often than not, I see the Pelicans hanging with the cormorants on this island while kayaking at oxbow bend in Teton National Park.
