I always got so excited when I came across one in Florida. I actually photographed one fishing in the surf on one rare occasion. So pretty.

We have only seen them around fresh water so it must have been a sight to see them in the surf. Come to think of it we did see a big roost in California just several miles inland so maybe we will see one in the open next time we venture further west.
