This year the spring rains have been generous and brought an abundance of Wild Iris to the high arid grasslands of Northern Colorado. Will the wet summer continue or will things dry out. Only time will tell.
Hi, hope your weekend is going well. We have tons of wild Iris in areas that get flooded for just a short time but this year, given our abundant rains, was a spectacular year for the flowers. Have a great weekend.
What a beautiful scene to behold, Mike. The parched, cracked bed and sage brush seem at odds with the lush iris. Lovely!

Hi Eliza, it was indeed that contrast the made me pullover and get out of the car for the photo. Hope your day is going well and wishing you a great week.
I have only seen wild Iris once before, in the Connecticut woods along the Connecticut River. Beautiful flowers.
